What is Systems Thinking?

Systems Thinking is a disciplined, holistic approach to analyzing and improving real-world social systems. Systems Thinking may be defined as the art and science of understanding how structure determines performance, so that you may use that understanding to change structure to improve performance. The structure includes an organization's or community's processes and systems, explicit and implicit policies (including its mission, strategies, and goals), and culture.

What is developmental facilitation?

Developmental facilitation is an approach to facilitation that builds the capacity of the group to improve its long-term effectiveness. Basic facilitation often creates dependence on external intervenors to by-pass a group's ineffective behavior. Skilled facilitation gives group members the ability to skillfully and effectively manage their own process.
